How academically successful are Unity students?
100% of students who have graduated from Grade 12, with all Ministry of Education requirements, have received their Ontario Secondary School Diploma and most of these students have graduated with more than the 30 credits that are required.
Over 90% of Unity graduates have been accepted into their first choice of post-secondary school program.
95% of Unity students pass the Ontario Literacy test on their first attempt.

Does Unity  provide transportation?
We share five bus routes with Timothy Christian School: Alliston, Oro, Innisfil, Springwater and Sunnidale. These routes are streamlined for efficiency and cost.  For more information about the current routes and stops, please contact the school office.

Does Unity provide any form of tuition assistance?
No family pays the real cost of tuition. Every family receives several thousand dollars in financial assistance, regardless of need. This is achieved through regular fundraising throughout the year.
All families with a child in a fee-paying Christian elementary school are eligible to apply for 20% tuition assistance.

Does Unity receive any financial support from municipal, provincial or federal government?
We do not receive any public funding. All of our costs are met through tuition and community fund-raising.

Who governs Unity?
Unity has a Board of Directors who are elected every three years. The Board consists of current and alumni parents and even parents of future students! There is a high level of communication between the Principal, Vice Principal, Staff, Board of Directors and the numerous committees. Unity is a member of the Ontario Alliance of Christian Schools.

Does Unity belong to a particular church denomination?
We are an inter-denominational educational community.

Are Unity teachers certified?
All of our teachers are certified by the Province of Ontario and some have Masters’ Degrees in Education.

Does Unity have a teacher who works with the special needs of students?
Our Resource teacher works alongside individual students to ensure that his or her academic needs are being met.

How long is the school day?
School starts at 9am and ends at 3:10pm. There is one lunch time from 11:30-noon.

Does Unity have a uniform?
Although Unity does not have a school uniform, we expect all students to adhere to our dress code, which will be explained to new students upon arrival.
Customized Unity athletic and casual clothing is available for purchase at different times throughout the year. 

Does Unity compete in athletics against other schools in Simcoe County?
We are a member of the Simcoe County Athletic Association which means that we compete against high schools in the public school boards. We regularly compete in the Georgian Bay Regional Finals and the Ontario Federation of School Athletics Association. We have teams in basketball, volleyball, cross-country running, track and field, badminton, hockey and rowing.

Does Unity have an extracurricular Arts program?
Unity invites the public to our Performing Arts Centre to see our theatrical productions. In 2016, we performed “Cinderella”.  Our school bands and choirs also hold concerts twice a year. Our choir enjoys sharing music on choir tours. Recently, they were singing in Prince Edward Island!

Does Unity have an elected student council?
There are six elected students and they work hard throughout the year to create a lively student social life which include movie nights, dances, a spring banquet and spirit days. These representatives also work on student committees.

Does Unity have clubs?
In the 2016-17 year there are clubs for students interested in the yearbook, creating music, and participating in athletics. In 2017, a group of 13 students travelled to Guatemala as a mission’s team.
We also have a competitive, but informal, ping pong culture.
