The International program at Unity Christian High School allows students from other countries to obtain a high school education in a caring, supportive, Canadian, Christian environment.  We believe that inviting students to our school from other countries provides an enriching experience for them and for the rest of our student body.  Students whose first language is not English take classes in ESL (English as a second language) in addition to regular academic courses.  In this way they are able to practice their English both in a traditional classroom setting as well as in authentic interaction with native English speakers.

Historically, our school has hosted international students from Korea, Mexico, and China. Most of our international students live with a Christian family as part of our homestay program.  We believe the homestay program is an excellent way for students to learn about Canadian culture and the Christian faith.   As Christians, we believe it is important that our international students have the care and support of a family while they are here in Canada and so far away from their own families.

For Canadian families, the homestay program is also a great opportunity to learn about another culture.   

We are currently looking for more homestay families for next September.  Homestay families receive a stipend of $850/month for hosting a student.  If you or someone you know has a gift in hospitality, youth mentoring, or teaching, then perhaps the homestay program is for you!
